Construction of Najran Sewage Networks (3rd Phase)
Project Description
The project involves the construction of sewage networks for 10 districts located in the southwestern region of Najran city. This includes the installation of pipelines with varying diameters, covering a total length of 225 km, designed to support efficient wastewater management for the growing urban population. Additionally, the project entails extensive asphalt works spanning 174 km to improve road infrastructure in the affected areas. The construction aims to enhance sanitation services, support public health, and contribute to the sustainable development of the city, aligning with regional infrastructure goals and Vision 2030 initiatives for urban development and environmental sustainability.

Scope of Work
Design Review:
A thorough evaluation of the proposed designs to ensure they comply with project specifications, standards, and regulations. The review ensures that the design aligns with the project’s functional, safety, and aesthetic requirements, identifying potential issues early on for timely resolution.
Construction Supervision:
Overseeing the construction process to ensure that the project is executed according to plan, maintaining high standards and meeting key project milestones. Key areas of construction supervision include:
- Quality Control: Implementing a system for inspecting, testing, and evaluating materials, workmanship, and processes to ensure the work meets required quality standards. This includes conducting regular site inspections, testing materials, and reviewing contractor performance to guarantee compliance with the project specifications.
- Time and Progress Control: Monitoring the construction timeline to ensure the project stays on schedule. This includes assessing progress against the project schedule, identifying delays, and taking corrective actions to maintain progress and ensure timely project completion.
- Contract Administration: Managing all contractual aspects, including reviewing and approving variation orders, handling disputes and claims, and ensuring that all parties comply with the terms and conditions of the contract. This ensures that any changes, claims, or disputes are handled efficiently and equitably.
- Contractor’s Submittals Review and Approval: Reviewing and approving all contractor submittals, including materials, shop drawings, and method statements, ensuring they meet the design and quality requirements. This step ensures that all work is executed in line with the approved design and project specifications.
- Risk Management and Control: Identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that risks to project success (such as cost overruns, delays, or safety concerns) are managed proactively. This includes monitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle and adjusting mitigation strategies as needed.
- Payment Certificates Review and Approval: Reviewing and approving contractor payment certificates, ensuring that payments are made based on completed work and in accordance with contractual terms. This step ensures that the financial transactions remain transparent and accurate.
- Project Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including progress reports, inspection records, and meeting minutes. Regular reporting ensures that all stakeholders are informed of project status, challenges, and achievements.
- Review of As-Built Drawings and Final Payment Certificate: Conducting a final review of the as-built drawings to ensure they accurately reflect the completed work. Additionally, reviewing the final payment certificate ensures that all contractual requirements have been met before making the final payment to the contractor.
This comprehensive approach to design review and construction supervision ensures that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, with effective risk management and clear communication throughout the process.
