KEC - Design of Southern Infrastructure

Al Madinah Al Mounawarah, KSA

Project Description

Performing consultancy Services for KEC South Infrastructure design review and update as summarized below:

Connection with KAAR: Reviewing and updating the design to ensure proper integration and connection with the King Abdulaziz Road (KAAR) infrastructure, optimizing traffic flow and accessibility.

Service Road (Short-Term Solution): Evaluating and proposing a temporary service road solution to provide immediate access to key areas until the permanent infrastructure is in place.

Connection with KAAR Service Road (Permanent Solution): Developing a long-term solution for connecting the project to the KAAR service road, ensuring seamless and efficient traffic movement.

Traffic Impact Study, Review, and Update: Conducting a detailed review and update of the traffic impact study to address any changes or new traffic patterns resulting from design modifications, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal traffic management.

MV Network: Reviewing and updating the Medium Voltage (MV) network design to ensure the infrastructure meets the project’s electrical requirements, complies with standards, and is efficient for future expansion.

Cost Reduction / Value Engineering: Identifying opportunities for cost reduction through value engineering, optimizing design elements, materials, and construction methods to deliver a more cost-effective solution without compromising quality or functionality.

Obtaining Authorities NOCs: Coordinating with relevant authorities to obtain the necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs), ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and securing approval for construction and implementation.

Priority Package: HV Cables Corridor W06 (Early Tender Package): Focusing on the early tender package for the HV (High Voltage) cables corridor W06, prioritizing its design and preparation to fac

Scope of Work

Design Review and Integration:

Conducting a thorough review of the project design, including the connection with KAAR and service roads, to ensure seamless integration with the existing infrastructure and optimized traffic flow.

  1. Updated utilities disposition drawings (Utilities cross sections) for roads to accommodate HV Corridors requirements, in addition to any amendments in plans/profiles to avoid clashing with HV Corridors.
  2.  Updated Package for KAAR service road, KEG South Package 1-Strip North Package

Traffic Impact Analysis: Performing an updated traffic impact study to assess and address any changes in traffic patterns and flow resulting from the design modifications, ensuring smooth transportation and minimal congestion.

Value Engineering and Cost Optimization: Identifying cost-saving opportunities through value engineering, improving design efficiency, and recommending alternative materials or construction methods to reduce overall project costs without compromising quality.

Regulatory Compliance and Approvals: Coordinating with relevant authorities to obtain necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs), ensuring the project meets all regulatory requirements and complies with local construction standards.
